The Indian Navy suffered yet another major loss when one of its personnel died during sea operations. Mohit Hull Artificer 4, 23, succumbed to injuries onboard INS Brahmaputra during operations at sea. The Indian Navy on Sunday expressed its condolences to the deceased's family and has ordered an investigation into the accident.

"Adm R Hari Kumar #CNS and all personnel of the #IndianNavy pay tribute to Mohit, HA4, who died during an exercise at sea on 08 Apr 23 & extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family," the Indian Navy said in a tweet.

This is the Navy's second officer loss in a week, the most recent occurring during a training exercise. The previous incident occurred on April 5, when a Navy Petty Officer named Chandaka Govind died during a free-fall training exercise at Panagrah Air Force Station. He is said to have gone missing after a routine drop from a C130J Super Hercules aircraft and was later discovered with a partially opened parachute in the West Bengal district of Bankura. His final rites were held on April 8 at his home in Vill Parla, Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh.
