India-China Border Row: Solution Has To Be Found In Domain Of Diplomacy, Says EAM Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday said he is "totally convinced" that a solution has to be found in the domain of diplomacy.

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing tensions with China following the aggressive behavior of its People’s Liberation Army,  External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday said he is "totally convinced" that a solution has to be found in the domain of diplomacy. He said that the world has a lot riding on it, and therefore it was vital for both the countries to reach an accommodation, even as he asserted that he was not underplaying the seriousness of the current situation. Earlier in the day, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane reached Ladakh on Thursday morning to review the ongoing security situation on a two-day visit. Meanwhile Indian Army has also strengthened its presence in at least three strategic heights in the southern bank of Pangong lake region, days after foiling China's "provocative" actions to change the status quo in the area.
