Independence Day 2021: 2 Mi-17 1V Helicopters To Shower Flower Petals After Flag Hoisting At Red Fort

Mi-17 1V is a potent helicopter platform, equipped with modern avionics and glass cockpit instrumentation.

New Delhi: For the first time ever, two Mi-17 1V helicopters of the Indian Air Force in Amrut formation will shower flower petals at the Red Fort soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the tricolour at the Independence Day celebrations in the national capital tomorrow. 

The announcement was shared by Defence Ministry. 

"For the first time ever, this year as soon as the National Flag is hoisted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Independence Day celebrations, flower petals will be showered at the venue by two Mi-17 1V helicopters of the Indian Air Force in Amrut formation," news agency ANI quoted Defence Ministry as saying. 

Mi-17 1V is a potent helicopter platform, equipped with modern avionics and glass cockpit instrumentation. They are equipped with state-of-art navigational equipment, avionics, weather radar and are NVG-compatible.
