It's not the first time opposition party leaders have criticised the prime minister in such a way. In the past, opposition politicians have used offensive language against PM Modi on a number of occasions.
Police Use Water Cannon Against Punjab Congress Workers Protesting Over Adani Issue
In the meanwhile, on Monday, when Punjab Congress leaders and supporters attempted to break through barriers to 'gherao' the governor's mansion in protest against the BJP-led Centre over the Adani issue, police used a water cannon at them, PTI reported.
Congress leaders and supporters from around the state gathered outside the Punjab Congress headquarters here, led by party leader Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.
In order to stop demonstrators from approaching Governor Banwarilal Purohit's home, a sizable police presence was stationed close to the Congress headquarters in Sector 15 here.
Police resorted to firing the water cannon when the Congress workers and leaders attempted to climb over the barriers.
Subsequently, police seized workers and leaders of the Congress, among them Warring.
Speaking to party members earlier, Warring criticised the BJP administration at the centre and alleged that it was "benefiting a few" powerful businesspeople in addition to encouraging "crony capitalism." Furthermore, he said that the BJP-led administration was abusing its power to silence political opponents.
