Rain Likely To Bring Relief From Rising Temperatures But Holi Celebrations Could Be Marred In Delhi, UP
Delhi-NCR weather forecast: Rain is likely around Holi, causing temperatures to drop and improving the air quality.

North India Weather Forecast: The winter is now over in nearly all of India. After almost a week of rising temperatures in North India, there is some possibility of rain on Holi. While heavy rains continue in South India, according to the India Meteorological Department, rain is likely in Delhi-NCR between March 13 and 15.
Due to the frequent changes in the temperature, cases of fever are also increasing. Hospitals in northern India have reported an increase of 60 percent of such patients.
According to meteorologists, Thursday will be marked by cloudy skies with light rain in Delhi-NCR. The maximum temperature will be about 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to hover around 18 degrees Celsius. Rain is also expected on Holi (Friday), which may cause a drop in temperature.
Air quality in Delhi remains in the 'poor' category. On Wednesday, March 12, the minimum temperature was recorded at 17 degrees Celsius, which was 2.1 degrees above normal.
Weather To Change In Uttar Pradesh As Well
The weather is also changing in Uttar Pradesh. Strong winds of up to 20 to 30 kilometres per hour may blow in the state for two days. From Thursday, rain and thunderstorms are expected in Western UP, while the weather will remain dry in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Light rain is possible in western and eastern UP on March 14 and 15.
Severe Heatwave In Rajasthan
The heat is on a steep rising trajectory in Rajasthan. The maximum temperatures are being recorded above normal in Barmer and Jalore. On Wednesday, March 12, the maximum temperature in Barmer reached 41.2 degrees Celsius, which was 7.7 degrees above normal.
However, light rain may soon bring some relief to the Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions. This may bring down the temperature by two to three degrees.
Mercury Rising In Madhya Pradesh
The temperature is also continuously increasing in Madhya Pradesh. Due to hot winds, the maximum temperature in the state has reached close to 40 degrees Celsius. The IMD has forecast that this situation may continue for the next two to three days. The weather will remain dry on March 13 and 14 and the temperature may increase by 1-2 degrees Celsius.
Chances Of Rain And Snowfall In Uttarakhand
Light rain is possible in many districts of Uttarakhand, while snowfall is likely in areas above 3,500 metres. Rain is also likely in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh, and Bageshwar.
Heavy Rain Alert In Tamil Nadu
Heavy rain is expected in some districts of Tamil Nadu in South India. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, and Tuticorin districts. Heavy rain is also likely in the Tenkasi district. Fishermen have been advised not to go to sea. Light to moderate rain and lightning are expected in Chennai.
