Hot Conditions In Delhi On Holi, Rainfall Expected In West Bengal, Jharkhand — Weather Update

As the festival of Holi is around the corner, Delhi is likely to see a rise in temperature in the coming days following the slow wind speed.

New Delhi: As the festival of Holi is around the corner, Delhi is likely to see a rise in temperature in the coming days following the slow wind speed. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Delhi's maximum and minimum temperature is expected to hover around 31 and 16 degrees celsius respectively.

The weather department also said that the city's maximum temperature could reach 33 degrees Celsius over the next 4-5 days. The city is not seeing a surge in the maximum temperature due to moderate winds, but the fall in wind speed might change things in the coming days.   

Rain Likely Over Central And Adjoining Parts Of Western India

Several parts of India are likely to receive rainfall over the next few days. According to the Indian Meteorological Department thunderstorm and isolated rain is expected over central and adjoining parts of Western India till March 7. A fresh western disturbance is expected to affect Western Himalayan Region from March 7 due to which light isolated rainfall/snowfall is expected over Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir till March 7. As far as Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are concerned, isolated snowfall/rainfall is very likely on March 5,8 and 9. 

"Isolated light/moderate rainfall with thunderstorm activity very likely over Central and adjoining West India during next 4 days; with gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) over East Rajasthan on 06th & 07th March and with hail over East Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada on 07th March," the MeT Department informed in its weather bulletin.

Rainfall Likely Over Eastern And Northeastern Parts Of India

According to IMD, rainfall/snowfall is expected over the eastern and northeastern parts of the country including West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha.

"Light isolated rainfall/snowfall also very likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Su -Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during next 5 days; over Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal during 07th- 09th march and over Tamil Nadu during next 24 hours," the IMD said.
