Holi 2022: Heatwave Or Rainfall — Check Weather Forecast For Holi In Your City

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over parts of Rajasthan on the day of Holi, that is March 18.

New Delhi: With just a day left for the festival of colours Holi, it is important to know how the weather in your city would be like, especially with day tempearture soaring in many places. 

Northern India is already facing the heatwave despite the fact that it is just the beginning of the summer season. In many cities, the temperature has already crossed 35 degrees Celsius. It has even reached 39-41 degrees in some cities already.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over parts of Rajasthan on the day of Holi, that is March 18. 

Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Vidharbha, and over the Jammu region. Similar conditions are likely to prevail over Odisha and Telangana until March 18.

In Delhi as well, high temperature is likely to remain until the weekend.

On Thursday, the day of Holika Dahan, skies will remain clear. The day temperature will begin to rise thereafter in several parts of the country.

“The skies will be mainly clear on Thursday. The days will get warmer as the maximum temperature in the city is likely to remain around 36 degrees Celsius towards the weekend,” an IMD official told news agency PTI.

Similarly, Mumbai is also likely to witness a heatwave over the next two days, warned IMD. In Lucknow, the maximum temperature is likely to reach 38 degrees celsius. Patna is also likely to witness 37 degrees Celsius on the day of Holi.

Meanwhile, Kolkata will also see a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius on March 18. 

However, the weather in eastern India is likely to be a little comfortable as there isn't any chance of heatwave. As per the Met department, the Andaman & Nicobar islands may receive rainfall this Holi.

Southern India is also likely to receive isolated rainfall in parts of Kerala, Mahe, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry.
