Himachal Cable Car Mishap: 11 Tourists Stuck Mid-Air After Technical Glitch In Parwanoo Rescued

Parwanoo Deputy Superintendent of Police Pranav Chauhan earlier in the day said the rescue operation is underway, Asian News International (ANI) reported.

New Delhi: At least 11 tourists, including two senior citizens and four women, who got stranded mid-air at Parwanoo Timber Trail in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan Valley on Monday after their cable car developed a technical glitch have been rescued. This came after hours of rescue efforts by the officials. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur is visiting the spot to take stock of the situation.

“The rescue operation of tourists stranded at Parwanoo Timber Trail in Solan is going on. I am visiting the spot after receiving information about the incident. The administration is on the spot and all the passengers will soon be safely rescued with the help of NDRF and administration,” he tweeted in Hindi.

Parwanoo Deputy Superintendent of Police Pranav Chauhan earlier in the day said the rescue operation is underway, Asian News International (ANI) reported.

“11 people, including two senior citizens and four women, are stuck in a cable car trolley for the last 1.5 hours following a technical fault in the cable car system,” the news agency quoted the Deputy Superintendent of Police as saying.

The technical team of the Timber Trail operator has been deployed to rescue those trapped with the local police monitoring the situation.

Earlier in April this year, at least three tourists lost their lives after they remained trapped mid-air in three cable cars in Jharkhand's Deoghar district for more than 40 hours due to a technical snag.

This came as over 40 people were stuck following a collision between cable cars on a ropeway at Trikut Hills in Deoghar district.
