Haryana: 100 Km Area Around Delhi Be Kept In NCR, Says CM Manohar Lal Khattar
The Chief Minister further stated that when the NRC was founded, the far-flung districts believed that being a member of it would bring them more perks, but "there isn't much change."
New Delhi: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar stated on Saturday that the state's region within a radius of up to 100 kilometres of Delhi should only be referred to as the National Capital Region (NCR).
The Chief Minister further stated that when the NRC was founded, the far-flung districts believed that being a member of it would bring them more perks, but "there isn't much change."
"Haryana government has suggested (to the Central government) that the area of the state in the radius of up to 100 km around Delhi should be kept in the National Capital Region (NCR) and the districts that don't fall in this area should be taken out of NCR," Khattar was quoted by ANI in its report.
He further said that being a part of the NCR puts "pressure" on other districts.
The NCR encompasses 14 of Haryana's 22 districts, including outlying areas such as Karnal, Jind, Charkhi Dadri, and Bhiwani.

While holding the Janata Darbar at Karnal, Khattar stated that public hearings had previously been postponed owing to the Covid-19 outbreak, but that they have again been restarted.
During Saturday's event, over 700 individuals expressed their concerns and problems, and cops on the scene were given instructions to handle the majority of them.
