Gyanvapi Case: 3 Tombs, Basement Assessed On Day 3. ASI Survey To Continue Tomorrow, Say Hindu Side Lawyers

New Delhi: As the scientific survey of Varanasi's Gyanvapi mosque complex is underway, advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side in the case, on Sunday said that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) conducted a detailed survey of the complex including all the three tombs and the basement.
He further stated that mapping, measurement, and photography work was underway during the third day of the survey.
Speaking on the status of the ASI survey, Jain told reporters, "ASI is doing a detailed scientific study of the (Gyanvapi) complex including all three tombs and basement. Work will continue tomorrow as well," reported news agency PTI.

"The ASI has been conducting the survey smoothly & within the compliance of the court order. A detailed study is being conducted of the entire premises including the three tombs & basement. Mapping, measurement & photography work is underway. A scientific study & detailed work is being carried out...The work will continue tomorrow as well..."
He stated that the survey will continue tomorrow as well.
Another advocate from the Hindu side, Sudhir Tripathi told ANI, "Everyone is cooperating...A survey of the tombs was also done today...The timing is not yet confirmed for tomorrow's survey."

On the second day of the scientific investigation, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) studied the central hall of the Gyanvapi mosque to ascertain if the 17th-century mosque was built atop a pre-existing Hindu temple construction, news agency PTI reported.
On Saturday, government attorney Rajesh Mishra, who was also on the ASI survey team the day before, claimed the crew began work in the morning and finished by 5 p.m. The survey activity was paused between 1 and 3 p.m. for lunch.
