Gurgaon Malls To Open From July 1st With Restrictions, Read Guidelines Here; Faridabad To Decide On Monday

The Haryana government had earlier allowed malls to reopen from June 7 across the state, barring Gurgaon and Faridabad that accounted for overwhelming proportions of COVID-19 infections and fatalities.

New Delhi: The Haryana government has allowed shopping malls in Gurgaon and Faridabad to reopen from July 1, more than two months after they were shut to combat the novel coronavirus outbreak. The guidelines will come into effect from next month. Timings for the malls will be 9 AM to 8 PM, a state government statement read, adding no person shall be out on roads beyond 9 PM. ALSO READ|'No Community Transmission In Delhi, Sisodia's Claim Of 5.5 Lakh Cases Led To Fear Among People': Amit Shah The Gurgaon district administration said it would implement the state government's decision on reopening malls with certain restrictions, whereas the Faridabad authorities will take a final call on the matter in a meeting on Monday. These are some guidelines to be followed in Gurugram Malls:
  •  Physical distancing of at least 6 feet to be followed as far as feasible. Use of face covers/masks is mandatory. These measures need to be observed by all (workers and visitors) in these places at all times.
  • Practice frequent hand washing with soap even when hands are not visibly dirty. Use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers can be made wherever feasible.
  • Entrance to have mandatory sanitizer dispenser and thermal screening provisions.
  • Only asymptomatic customers/visitors shall be allowed.
  • All employees who are at higher risk i.e. older employees, pregnant employees and employees who have underlying medical conditions, to take extra precautions.
  • Posters/standees/AV media on preventive measures about COVID-19 to be displayed prominently.
  • Preferably separate entry and exits for visitors, workers, and goods/supplies shall be organized.
  • No Large gatherings/congregations allowed inside the malls.
  • The number of people in the elevators shall be restricted, duly maintaining social distancing norms. Use of escalators with one person on alternate steps may be encouraged.
  • Valet parking, if available, shall be operational with operating staff wearing face covers/ masks and gloves as appropriate. Proper disinfection of steering, door handles, keys, etc.  of the vehicles should be taken up.
  • Self-monitoring of health by all and reporting any illness at the earliest to state and district helpline. Spitting shall be strictly prohibited.
  • Installation & use of Aarogya Setu App is mandatory for all.
