Weekend Curfew Imposed In Delhi, Buses & Metro Trains To Run At Full Capacity | Check Guidelines

Delhi reported 382 omicron cases on Tuesday while on Monday reported 4,099 fresh Covid-19 cases with a positivity rate of 6.46 percent.

New Delhi: After the covid positivity rate in Delhi jumped over 5% for a day, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has decided to impose a weekend curfew in the national capital. The decision was taken on Tuesday during a DDMA meeting held in view of rapidly increasing COVID-19 cases in Delhi.

Government employees, barring those engaged in essential services, will be asked to work from home, announced Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. Private offices will continue to remain open with only 50 percent seating capacity, he said.

A bigger change that the Delhi commuters will witness is that after a restrictive 50% capacity in public transport vehicles such as buses and metro trains has been removed.

Public transportation will once again run at full seating capacity. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia explained that such a decision is being taken to avoid crowding outside metro stations and at bus stops.
