New Delhi: The newly launched Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express witnessed a stone pelting incident near Sohawal station on Tuesday. However, the stone pelting incident didn't cause harm to any passenger, reported news agency ANI.
According to the police, on July 9, the train accidentally ran over six goats owned by Munnu Paswan. In response to this incident, Munnu and his two sons, fueled by anger, resorted to pelting stones at the train today.
While speaking on the incident, SSP said, "RPF informed us today that stones were pelted on Vande Bharat train near Sohawal railway station. Local Police went to the spot for investigation and it was found that the train ran over six goats of one Munnu Paswan on 9th July. So, out of anger Munnu & his two sons Ajay & Vijay pelted stones on the train today."

"All three of them have been apprehended & they are being questioned. No passenger was injured," he added.
The semi-high-speed train was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 7, which runs six days a week, except for Saturdays. The train, with accommodation for 556 passengers, was flagged off from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur.
On the same day, PM Modi had also flagged off the Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express. Currently, India has over 25 Vande Bharat trains running across the country.
Previously on July 5, miscreants had pelted stones at the newly launched Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express in Karnataka.
The incident occurred at 8:40 am when the train was passing between Kadur-Birur section at ‘KM 2017/500’, as per the railway officials.
