Goodbye Sir: Indian envoy to Pakistan on Vajpayee

Islamabad [Pakistan], August 16 (ANI): Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria bid goodbye to the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Bisariya who was an aide to Vajpayee from 1999 to 2004 (Private Secretary at Prime Minister Office) expressed his grief on the demise of his former boss.

Referring to Vajpayee as 'the embodiment of a progressive vision of a 21st century India', Bisaria wrote in a Facebook post that the nation has lost one of the finest sons. "He believed in the politics of consensus and conciliation. The art of listening was his forte. He wanted a strong India but felt no risk was too great if it was for peace," the Indian envoy wrote.

Remembering his days of association with the former Prime Minister Vajpayee, Bisaria said that he was a wonderful and inspiring boss with a 'healing and calming touch.'

He also took to Twitter to write: "We've lost one of the nation's finest sons, an embodiment of a progressive vision for 21st century India. He was not just a globally respected statesman, but also a great, inspiring boss with a calming touch. It was a unique privilege to have worked in his team for five years."

Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away on Thursday at All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) following a prolonged illness at the age of 93.

The veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader was admitted to AIIMS on June 11 with complications arising out of Urinary Tract Infection, low urine output, and chest congestion. He was on life support since Wednesday morning after his condition deteriorated. (ANI)
