Golden Baba adorns self with 20 kg gold worth Rs 6 core! Turns heads during Kanwar Yatra

Golden Baba is widely known for his Yatra wearing massive weight of gold ornaments every year. With each yatra, Baba's gold acquisitions have gone up.

New Delhi: Famous Golden Baba is back again. One of the quirky babas in India who is known for participating in Kanwar Yatra wearing gold jewellery is back. This time, with more gold! This year on his 25th Kanwar Yatra, Baba is wearing gold jewellery weighing around 20 kgs. The price of which would be worth approximately Rs 6 crore in today's market. Baba is widely known for his Yatra wearing massive weight of gold ornaments every year. With each yatra, Baba's gold acquisitions have gone up. In 2016 he was sporting 12kgs of gold, this year it has rose to 20 kgs.   Several people follow him including policemen."I am the centre of attraction. Wherever I go, people come to see me. Police has to provide security," Golden Puri Maharaj from Juna Akhara - as he calls his ashram - told news agency ANI.  As per the report, 54-year-old ‘Golden Baba’ was previously a Delhi-based businessman. He moves around in a convoy of expensive cars and Kanwar Yatra costs him around 1 Crore every year. Also, the ornaments that the baba wore included a collection of 21 gold chains, 21 lockets of deities, a gold jacket, rings on his fingers and a Rs 27 lakh Rolex watch, the report suggests. He also owns a BMW, three Fortuners, two Audi and two Innova vehicles which are part of his cavalcade.
