New Delhi: As the 10-day festival of Ganesh Chaturthi kicked off on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the residence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi and offered prayers on the occasion.
The video, showing PM Modi perform ‘aarti’ in front of the Ganesh idol, has gone viral on the social media.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister extended his greetings on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the Prime Minister shared a shloka in Sanskrit and wrote, "Best wishes on Ganesh Chaturthi. May the blessings of Lord Shri Ganesh always remain upon us."

President Droupadi Murmu also extended her greetings on the occasion and prayed for peace and prosperity in the lives of all the citizens.
“Hearty greetings to all the countrymen on Ganesh Chaturthi. Mangalmurti Lord Ganesha is a symbol of knowledge, accomplishment and good fortune. I wish that with the blessings of Shri Ganesh, there should be a spread of happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone's life,” she wrote.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, extending his greetings, tweeted, “Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all the countrymen. Ganpati Bappa Morya!”

Every year, hundreds of unique idols of Lord Ganesha grab our attention, with large parts of the country, especially Maharashtra, welcoming Bappa to his mortal abode.
