G20 Will Showcase India To The World: EAM Dr S Jaishankar In Rajya Sabha
Jaishankar said on Wednesday that India's diplomacy continued apace despite the country's growing global interests, and expanding footprint.
On the first day of the winter session in Parliament, Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar said G20 will showcase India to the world. "Our emphasis will be on sharing the India story. Our endeavour is to create consensus & shape the agenda under the India G20 presidency. G20 will showcase India to the world," said Jaishankar.

"G20 meetings have already commenced in India. Our endeavour is to organise 200 of these meetings in multiple locations in India. G20 summit will be highest profile international gathering hosted by India. We see this as a national endeavour," the minister added.
Jaishankar said on Wednesday that India's diplomacy continued apace despite the country's growing global interests, expanding footprint, and more intensive partnerships, praising Rajya Sabha on developments in India's foreign policy.
The minister stated that India's diplomacy has continued apace since the previous monsoon session, when he last provided an update on Indian foreign policy, in his remarks to the Parliament on the "Latest Developments in India's Foreign Policy."

"Since the monsoon session, ...India's diplomacy continued apace. Honorable President, Vice President, and Prime Minister interacted with a number of their foreign counterparts in India and abroad. We also participated in the events linked to G20, the SCO and ASEAN, while hosting a number of dignitaries in India including the UN chief," he said.
Assessing the Parliament about the key international strategy driven by India, Jaishankar said "these activities reflected India's growing interest, expanding footprint and more intensive partnerships."
The G20 or Group of 20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world's major developed and developing economies.
It comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US, and the European Union.
On December 1, India officially assumed the yearlong G20 Presidency of the influential group during which more than 200 meetings will be held in the country across 55 locations.
