He was under the care of a team of cardiologists led by Dr Nitish Naik.

Several prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, had earlier extended their wishes for Dr Singh’s speedy recovery.

Several politicians, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, had visited 89-year-old Dr Singh at the AIIMS when he was undergoing treatment.
