Farm Laws: Congress On Front Foot As Rahul Launches Fierce Attack On Centre; Priyanka, Others Detained

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday met President Ram Nath Kovind and submitted a memorandum containing two crore signatures against the farm laws enacted in September, despite police restrictions.

Farm Laws: The Congress party on Thursday appeared on the front foot, donning the hat of the main opposition party of the country, as Rahul Gandhi led a delegation of leaders to Rashtrapati Bhavan with over 2 crore signatures demanding repeal of the farm laws, while Priyanka Gandhi was detained briefly by Delhi police as she attempted to lead party’s March to the Rashtrapati Bhavan. While interacting with mediapersons later, Rahul appeared in an aggressive demeanor as he launched a scathing attack at the Centre. “You have an incompetent man who does not understand anything and running a system on the behalf of 3 or 4 other people who understand everything,” said Rahul Gandhi as he alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi of crony capitalism. “There is no democracy in India. It can be in your imagination, but not in reality,” he said reacting on Delhi Police taking party leaders into custody during their march to Rashtrapati Bhavan BJP would even call ‘Mohan Bhagwat’ a terrorist if he stands against PM, says Rahul Gandhi Rahul Gandhi said that anybody who stands against PM Modi is labeled as terrorist by his party.. Why doesn't PM speak about it, why is he silent?” Priyanka Gandhi detained briefly, slams Centre for attacking democracy in country Priyanka Gandhi who launched a demonstration from Vijay Chowk to Rashtrapati Bhavan with party MPs despite police restrictions, was taken into custody along with other leaders of the party. She was taken to Mandir Marg Police Station in New Delhi, before she was released. As the march was stopped by cops, she said ‘any dissent against this government is classified as having elements of terror. We are undertaking this march to voice our support for the farmers.’
