Heavy barricading at Ghazipur border
Keeping the Republic Day violence in mind and the group of out of control farmers, heavy security has been deployed at the national capital as the protesting farmers have called for a nationwide 'chakka jam' (road blockade) protest for three hours today. The three-hour chakka jam will take place between 12 pm - 3 pm across the country.
Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait said that no roads will be blocked in Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. He, however, added that farmers in these states have been kept on standby and will be called to the national capital for protests. Another farmer leader Sarwan pandher has said that other Farmer unions can hold Chakka Jan in Uttar Pradesh

On February 6, agitating farmers said they would block national and state highways across the country for three hours in protest against the internet ban in areas near their agitation sites, harassment allegedly meted out to them by authorities and other issues.
The ‘chakka jam’, has been called by Samyukta Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of 40 farmer unions protesting the farm laws. Several farmers' leaders have said that the move is in response to the Union Budget 2021 which allegedly ignores the demands of farmers and the internet ban imposed by the central government at various protest sites bordering the national capital
Will the essential services be interrupted?
The farmers will hold the Chakka jam protest for 3 hours and the farmers' unions have informed that there will be no interruption to essential services such as fire brigade, ambulance, and school buses will not be stopped during the 'chakka jam'.
The protest is not to disturb the common man but to make them aware of the situation the farmers are facing due to the government's newly formed Farm Laws, as said by the Kisan Unions.
Apart from Delhi, the blockade will take place in other parts of the National Capital Region (NCR), which comprises parts of Haryana and Rajasthan, and the rest of the country including the southern states. Leaders have also informed that the 'chakka jam' will not take place in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Hundreds of farmers have been protesting since Novembers against the government's 3 Agricultural Laws known as The Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Ordinance 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Ordinance 2020, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Ordinance 2020.
