Ex AAP member Sucha Singh Chhotepur launches 'Aapna Punjab'

Chandigarh: Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sucha Singh Chhotepur on Saturday announced the formation of a new regional party 'Aapna Punjab' and also unveiled its flag here. "The party, Aapna Punjab has been formed today and we appointed the general secretary and treasurer. The programme of the party is to save Punjab, to make Punjab drug free, save its industries, save its farmers, to end corruption, to clear Jungle Raj, to respect the poor, and to take everyone along. These will be the programme in the coming days. We will go the people of Punjab with this agenda and you will see how people accept a regional party." "There is a possibility of alliances. We will form a National Progressive Alliance and all the parties will participate in it," he said. "Regional party keeps the state's interests in mind, and not a national party. All the three parties in Punjab are national parties and there was a demand for a regional party. Everyone advised us to form a regional party, so we formed one," Chotepur said. "Many parties are here with us today, one from Haryana and two Dalit parties. In the coming days people from good and big parties will come and form alliances with us," he concluded. The party is collaborating with the fourth front of suspended AAP MP Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi. "We have the blessing of Dr. Dharmveer Gandhi and we formed the party under his advice and counsel. He will be with us to guide us," said Chotepur. Chhotepur resigned from AAP on Friday. Singh was sacked from AAP's convener position following allegations of taking bribes for assigning constituencies.
