Encounter breaks out in Baramulla, J&K; 1 terrorist gunned down

After this incident, the security officials cordoned the area and again initiated a search operation on Saturday morning.

New Delhi: An army convoy was attacked by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla on Friday night. After the attack which took place in Rafiyabad area in Baramulla, the army officials gunned down one terrorist. There are reports that one more terrorist has been hiding in the area. The attack was done on convoy of 32 Rashtriya Rifles patrolling party. As per reports, 2-3 terrorists attacked the Army convoy, after which Army jawans killed one terrorist in a retaliatory firing; whereas the rest of the terrorists were successful in fleeing. After this incident, the security officials cordoned the area and again initiated a search operation on Saturday morning. The security officials have also seized a pistol and two grenades from him. There is no information on the terrorists who had fled from the spot. More details on the same are awaited.
