‘Drink Cow Urine Every Day’: BJP MP Pragya Thakur Recommends 'Cure' To Fight Covid Induced Lung Infection

“If we have desi gau mutra (urine from an indigenous cow) every day then it cures lung infection from Covid. I am in deep pain but I take cow urine every day. So, now I don’t have to take any medicine against corona and I don't have corona,” she told a party gathering.

Bhopal: As the nation continues to battle the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Pragya Thakur has claimed cow urine can cure lung infection caused by Coronavirus, adding she is protected from the virus as she takes cow urine every day.

“If we have desi gau mutra (urine from an indigenous cow) every day then it cures lung infection from Covid. I am in deep pain but I take cow urine every day. So, now I don’t have to take any medicine against corona and I don't have corona,” she told a party gathering.

Thakur, who is the BJP MP from Bhopal, added “cow urine is a life-saver”.

Enumerating the various health benefits of the cow and cow products, the BJP leader had earlier in 2019 claimed that a mix of cow urine and other cow products had cured her cancer.

Taking a jibe at her assertion, Azad Samaj Party spokesperson Suraj Kumar Bauddh in a tweet said: Twice Born Merit…Sadhvi Pragya Thakur says; “Cow urine cures lung infection, I take it so I didn't get coronavirus.”

Thakur’s remarks come even as the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has categorically stated there is no scientific evidence that cow dung or urine helps with the treatment or prevention of Covid-19.

Moreover, the doctors in Gujarat had recently warned against many people in the state resorting to ‘cow-dung therapy’ to treat coronavirus and stated that such a therapy may in fact cause other injections such as mucormycosis or black fungus.
