Delhi Excise Policy Case: Delhi Court Adjourns Manish Sisodia's Bail Plea As No Reply Was Filed By ED

Manish Sisodia had moved the Delhi court seeking regular bail in the alleged Delhi Excise policy scam. He has also prayed for custody parole for two days to meet his ailing wife every week.

The Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Friday adjourned hearing bail petition filed by former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and AAP Leader Manish Sisodia as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had not filed reply in the court.

The district judge directed the ED to file a reply by next hearing and said that no further opportunity will be granted to file reply after this.

The court has listed the matter for further hearing on February 5 (Monday).

On January 28, the court had issued notice to ED and CBI seeking there reply on his application by Friday.

Sisodia was arrested in connection with a Delhi Liquor Policy Scam by ED and CBI.

Sisodia was previously denied interim bail by trial court and then the Delhi High Court. He then moved the top court against the high court order denying him bail.

In October 2023, the Supreme Court dismissed his petition after hearing arguments at length. The top court had observed that, “One aspect regard to transfer of money ,338 crores, is tentatively established."
