Delhi CM Kejriwal Inaugurates Over 12,000 Smart Classrooms In Govt Schools

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday inaugurated around 12,430 new smart classrooms in 240 government schools in the national capital.
Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia was also present on the occasion along with Delhi’s Home Minister Satyendar Jain, ANI reported.
“All corrupt people of the country have gathered against us. Today we will give a befitting reply to them by starting 12,430 new smart classrooms in Delhi schools. This country will not bow down to these corrupt people. The country has now decided to move forward. Baba Sahib and Bhagat Singh's dreams will be fulfilled,” Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi earlier in the day.
A statement issued earlier by the Delhi government said the new classrooms will reach 537 new school buildings.
The specialities of the new building include the designer desk in the classrooms, libraries and multipurpose halls for the conduct of events, the statement added.
Earlier this week, the schools in Delhi welcomed students of primary and junior classes after prolonged closure in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The schools reopened for classes 9 to 12 on February 7, while classes nursery to 8 reopened on February 14.
This took place as the Covid-19 virus induced restrictions eased in the national capital.
“From today schools for junior classes have reopened in Delhi. Younger kid were desperately waiting for schools to reopen. Childhood is incomplete without schools. I pray to God that we never have to close schools again,” Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi earlier on February 14.
The schools in Delhi were briefly reopened before being closed again on December 28 last year in view of the Covid-19 third wave.
