Delhi: CAQM Imposes Rs 5 Lakh Fine On BJP For Office Construction Amid GRAP Phase-3 Restrictions

The air quality in the national capital continued to remain ‘very poor’ today as well as the Air Quality Index was measured at 385.

New Delhi: State Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Tuesday took action against the under construction office of Bharatiya Janata Party in the national capital, sources told ABP News. On the orders of the Commission for Air Quality Management, construction work was stopped and a fine of Rupees 5 lakh was imposed.

Due to increasing pollution, the third phase of Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is in force in the city under which all things like construction work, demolition and stone crushing are banned.

The measure was taken in view of pollution and smog situation in the national capital.

The air quality in the national capital continued to remain ‘very poor’ today as well as the Air Quality Index was measured at 385, reported news agency ANI. The residents in the city woke up to a smoggy morning lowering the visibility. The air quality in the adjoining cities of Noida and Gurugram also witnessed a dip in the air quality.
