New Delhi: In times of natural calamity or other environmental issues, human lives become the central focus of rescue. Here is a forest officer who is being lauded for rescuing a deer from the flood in the Jhingekhali range in Sunderbans.

The tweets and photos informing about this act of kindness have been shared widely.

Cyclone Yaas wreaked havoc in West Bengal and Odisha, later weakening into a deep depression, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday. Extensive planning and precautionary rescue work were undertaken to prevent loss of life.

While rescue work for locals is often reported and gets a lot of attention, here's a heartwarming incident wherein a forest officer rescued a deer from the flood in the Jhingekhali range in Sunderbans.

Meanwhile, Cyclone Yaas continues to make its impact felt as after causing devastation in Odisha, West Bengal, and Jharkhand, its effect was visible in several districts of Bihar on Thursday, which will continue till Friday. Patna is witnessing heavy rainfall with strong winds of the speed of 30 kmph now and this is expected to intensify.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha and West Bengal on Friday to review the impact of Cyclone Yaas on the two coastal states. 

Government sources said PM Modi will first hold a review meeting in Bhubaneswar and then proceed for an aerial survey in the affected areas of Balasore, Bhadrak and Purba Medinipur.
