Cycle symbol is of Akhilesh Yadav, 90 per cent party workers are with him: Ramgopal Yadav

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav's uncle Ramgopal Yadav on Sunday said the cycle symbol is of Akhilesh and certain members of the Samajwadi party are misguiding Mulayam Singh Yadav. "Cycle symbol is of Akhilesh. 90 per cent party workers are with him", he said in an exclusive conversation with ABP News Channel. Some people within the party are jealous of Akhilesh Yadav because of his popularity, said Ramgopal. "Mulayam Singh should accept Akhilesh Yadav as national president of the party", he added. He stressed that the party support is with the CM of the Uttar Pradesh and added certain members of the Samajwadi party are misguiding Netaji (Mulayam Singh). We are trying to save the party, said Akhilesh's uncle. Talking about SP-Congress alliance, he said there is nothing concrete yet. Meanwhile, on Sunday Mulayam Singh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav has left for Delhi. On Saturday, amid intense slugfest for the ‘cycle’ symbol, the Akhilesh Yadav faction  submitted to the Election Commission (EC) affidavits which it claimed to have signatures of “90 per cent” of legislators and delegates, including over 200 of the 229 MLAs and 56 of 68 MLCs. On Monday, the Mulayam camp is likely to submit its set of affidavits, the deadline set by EC for both the sides to submit documents before it decides on which side to be allotted the ‘cycle’ symbol after the split in SP was formalised on January 3.
