Coronavirus: Uttar Pradesh Government Allows Home Isolation For Asymptomatic Patients
In an attempt to contain the spread of the deadly virus, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided not to allow home isolation for Coronavirus positive patients.
With the increase in the number of Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday decided to allow home isolation of asymptomatic patients only if all protocols related to the disease are followed. During a review meeting of Coronavirus pandemic with Team-11, the chief minister stressed that a large number of asymptomatic Covid-19 patients are still hiding their infection. Under the rule, it will be essential for the patient and his family to follow the rules of home isolation.
The decision comes as most people of Covid-19 infected people in the state are showing mild symptoms. In an attempt to contain the spread of the deadly virus, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided not to allow home isolation for Coronavirus positive patients.
In the order, a senior state gov official admitted that people were deliberately hiding their symptoms to escape government Covid-19 centres.
“The home isolation facility for Covid-19 positive patients is not allowed in the state. It has come to the notice of the government that many people are trying to hide the disease to avoid getting admitted to Covid-19 care centres for the lack of appropriate facilities. In view of this, a Level one facility is being introduced in Uttar Pradesh for those who are ready to pay for better facilities and have no or mild symptoms,” said the order issued by Amit Mohan Prasad.
Lauding the door-to-door survey and medical screening being conducted in the state, he said it was helping in identifying the infected people and stressed on rapid antigen tests of all suspected persons.
The chief minister asked the health and medical education department to take effective steps for bringing the death rate to the lowest levels, the release said.
As per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India's Covid-19 case tally crossed 11 lakh mark with the highest single-day spike of 40,425 new cases & 681 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
The total cases now stand at 11,18,043 including 3,90,459 active cases, 7,00,087 cured/discharged/migrated & 27,497 deaths, the health ministry has said.
