Coronavirus: 300 Districts Covid-19 Free, 197 Districts Non-Hotspots, Says Health Ministry
The Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said on Sunday that at least 300 districts are disease-free non-affected areas and about 197 districts are non-hotspots. Vardhan also said that even the Hotspot districts (HSD) are inching towards becoming non-hotspots districts (NHSD)s.
New Delhi: As the battle against coronavirus in India intensifies reports have come that almost 300 districts remain unaffected by the virus and 197 districts are non- hotspot area, the health ministry has said. According to a report by ANI, the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said on Sunday that at least 300 districts are disease-free non-affected areas and about 197 districts are non-hotspots. Vardhan also said that even the Hotspot districts (HSD) are inching towards becoming non-hotspots districts (NHSD)s.
Vardhan during his visit to AIIMS Trauma Centres said, “In the last three days, the doubling rate has come to 10.5 days. The situation in the country is improving. Hotspots districts are being turned into non-hotspots districts. In the last seven days, there are at least 66 districts where no new case has emerged.”

He also added, "Similarly, about 48 districts have not seen any positive case in the last 14 days. As many as 31 districts have not seen a fresh case in the last 21 days and 16 districts have not reported a new case in the past 28 days,"
Vardhan reiterated that it is important to follow all the Lockdown guidelines to ensure that virus stops spreading in any new areas.
At the time of writing, the total cases in India have reached 26,917 cases while the death toll has crossed 800. Today the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be interacting with Chief Ministers of different states to review the result of the lockdown and discuss further action necessary as the end of the nationwide lockdown which is on May 3 comes close.
