Coronavirus: For The First Time India Sees Nearly 25K New Cases; Set To Surpass Russia's Overall Tally

Coronavirus in India: India is trailing Russia, which is at the third position in terms of coronavirus cases, by only few thousand cases and is all set to beat the Russian Federation tally.

Coronavirus in India: India recorded the worst-ever rise in Coronavirus cases on Sunday, pushing its overall tally nearer to 7 lakh-mark. For the first time in India, nearly 25,000 fresh cases have been reported in 24 hours. 613 new deaths have been reported in single day. Also Read:  WHO Says China Did Not Voluntarily Report About Covid-19 Outbreak In Wuhan, Its Office Did As per the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the highest ever single-day spike of 24,850 new covid-19 cases were reported from parts of India. The total positive cases now stand at 6,73,165 including 2,44,814 active cases, 4,09,083 cured/discharged/migrated patients. The death toll has jumped to 19,268. Also Read: Global Covid-19 Positive Cases Surge Past 11 Million Grim Milestone, Over 5.2 Lakh Citizens Succumb To Pandemic Total samples tested: The total number of samples tested up to July 4 is 97,89,066 of which 2,48,934 samples were tested yesterday, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said. Worst-hit states: With a spike of more than 7,000 cases in just one day, Maharashtra remained the worst- hit state with its total cases crossing the 2-lakh mark (2,00,064) and 8,671 casualties, of which 295 occurred in the last 24 hours. Southern state of Tamil Nadu followed with 1,07,001 corona cases including 1,450 deaths. Tamil Nadu witnessed a spike of 4,280 cases and 65 deaths in just one day. At the third spot, national capital Delhi witnessed a spike of 2,505 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total corona tally to 97,200. Delhi now has 25,940 active cases, with 3,004 deaths. India has overall 6,73,165 cases while Russia has altogether 674,515 confirmed cases.
