BEWARE! Fake PM CARES Fund UPI ID Created On Internet To Cheat Donors; All You Need To Know
The people have been warned by the central government and State Bank of India against these fake Unified Payments Service (UPI) ID created by scamsters for collecting money under PM CARES Fund.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday announced the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) to fight against the coronavirus outbreak. Soon the fund has seen large amounts of donations from several individuals and organisations.
After the announcements of the Fund, some fraudsters have been reported to have set up fake UPI IDs on the pretext of PM Cares fund to cheat unsuspecting contributors.
The people have been warned by the central government and State Bank of India against these fake Unified Payments Service (UPI) ID created by scamsters for collecting money under PM CARES Fund.
Through the PIB FACT Check Twitter handle, the government clarified that pmcares@sbi is the correct ID, and requested donors to be mindful. You can check details of the Fund on the official website: https://www.pmindia. gov.in/
onlinesbi.com. Here you will have to provide details like your name, address, PAN number, amount of contribution, email id etc.
Donations to the fund can also be made via debit and credit cards, net banking, and RTGS/NEFT.
The government has appealed to the people to “generously” contribute to the fund. “Keeping in mind the need for having a dedicated national fund with the primary objective of dealing with any kind of emergency or distress situation, like posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and to provide relief to the affected, a public charitable trust under the name of ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’ (PM CARES Fund)’ has been set up,” the Prime Minister’s Office had said in a statement.
Prime Minister is the Chairman of this trust and its Members include Defence Minister, Home Minister and Finance Minister.
