Trace Your Exposure To Coronavirus! Govt Launches Covid-19 Tracker App; Check Direct Link To Download

The government has launched beta version of a Covid-19 tracking mobile application which helps users to check if they have crossed path with patients who tested positive of the Coronavirus.

New Delhi: As the novel Coronavirus outbreak continues to surge significantly in the country despite regular measures being announced and lockdown imposed countrywide, the Government of India has come up with a cutting-edge technology to save people from this medical pandemic. According to a report, the government has launched beta version of a Covid-19 tracking mobile application - Corona Kavach - which helps users to check if they have crossed path with patients who tested positive of the Coronavirus. Developed by Ministry of Electronics and IT, beta version of the Corona Kavach app helps you discover if you ever came in close proximity of a person was found to be positive of Covid-19. This information can be used by the individuals for putting them under self quarantine, if they came in close proximity with a person who was later declared Corona positive. The mobile application, however, does not share the name or any other identity of the Corona positive person who came in close proximity of the user. The app has been developed by Niti Aayog and is available for download for Android users on Google Play Store. For Apple users the iOS version of Corona Kavach is coming soon. Features of Corona Kavach app and what aims to do: i. Alert users if they are near a COVID-19 infected patient ii. Monitor the status of the community spread of Coronavirus through users' location iii. Send notifications to users who have been in close contact with anyone tested positive for COVID-19 Corona Kavach app also has colour coding to help people know their current status: Green: You never came in close proximity of Corona patients Yellow: You came in close proximity of Corona positive person Red: You have been declared Corona positive after tests Those who have been declared Coronavirus positive after tests and have been kept in quarantine can be geo-fenced. So, in case if they move out of the boundary of quarantined hospital, this app will raise notification to hospital administration.
