India Reports 10,229 Covid Cases In Last 24 Hrs, Active Cases Lowest In 523 Days

India's active cases account for less than 1% of the total cases, currently at 0.39% which is the lowest since March 2020. The recovery rate is currently at 98.26% which is highest since March 2020.

Corona Cases Update: India has again registered a decline in the daily surge of Coronavirus cases. The country has reported 10,229 Covid cases in the last 24 hours, according to the health bulletin released by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. A total of 11,926 patients recovered from the virus on Sunday, while 125 people lost their lives in the last 24 hours. 

The country's active cases account for less than 1% of the total cases, currently at 0.39% which is the lowest since March 2020. The recovery rate is currently at 98.26% which is the highest since March 2020.

Case tally: 3,44,47,536

Active cases: 1,34,096 (lowest in 523 days)

Total recoveries: 3,38,49,785

Death toll: 4,63,655

Total Vaccination: 1,12,34,30,478

Kerala

Continuing with a downward trend, Kerala recorded 5,848 fresh coronavirus infections and 65 deaths on Sunday, raising the caseload to 50,61,072 and the toll to 35,750.

With 7,228 more people recovering from the virus since Saturday, the total recoveries touched 49,57,509 and the active cases dropped to 67,185, according to the state health ministry. 

Of the 65 deaths, 46 were reported over the last few days and 19 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and Supreme Court directions. 

Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest with 919 cases followed by Kozhikode (715) and Thiruvananthapuram (724).

Maharashtra

Maharashtra on Sunday reported 956 COVID-19 cases and 18 deaths, taking the tally in the state to 66,24,300 and the toll to 1,40,583, according to a PTI report.

All 18 deaths took place in the Mumbai division, including 11 in Raigad, five in Kalyan-Dombivali civic area in the Thane district and two in the metropolis.

The discharge of 966 persons took the recovery count to 64,67,879 in Maharashtra, which is 97.64 per cent of the overall tally, leaving the state with 12,191 active cases, he said. The fatality rate stood at 2.12 per cent.

Mumbai reported 264 cases and two deaths, taking the tally and toll in the country's financial capital to 7,60,329 and 16,292 respectively.

Mumbai division saw 439 cases and 18 deaths, which took the tally to 17,07,181 and the fatality count to 35,710, he added.
