India Continues To Report Over 40K New Covid Cases, Records 581 Deaths In Last 24 Hrs
After dip in daily positive cases, India is now witnessing a downward trend in fatalities due to Coronavirus.
Covid In India: India reports 41,806 new Covid cases, 39,130 recoveries, & 581 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Health Ministry.
Total cases: 3,09,87,880
Total recoveries: 3,01,43,850
Active cases: 4,32,041
Death toll: 4,11,989
Total vaccinated: 39,13,40,491 (34,97,058 in last 24 hrs)
The Indian Council of Medical Research said that 43,80,11,958 samples were tested for Covid 19 up to 14th July 2021. Of these, 19,43,488 samples were tested yesterday.
India's active caseload is currently at 4,32,041. Active cases constitute 1.39% of total cases. The weekly positivity rate remains below5% and is currently at 2.21%. The daily positivity rate at 2.15%, less than 3% for 24 consecutive days.
Covid cases in Maharashtra
With 8,602 new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Wednesday, Maharashtra’s tally reached 6,181,247 cases so far. As many as 170 more people succumbed to the illness in the previous 24 hours, taking the state’s death toll to 126,390, the latest data showed.
Maharashtra daily Covid tally remains above the 7,000-mark in the last two days with 7,603 new cases on Monday (July 12) and 7,243 new cases on Tuesday (July 13).
As many as 6,067 people were discharged from hospitals in the previous 24 hours and the cumulative recoveries in the state reached 5,944,801, the data showed. The medical workers in the state tested 226,163 new samples on the day and so far, 44,609,276 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the state.
Covid In Kerala
Kerala recorded 15,637 new Covid cases on Wednesday, informed the health department in a press release. With 128 new fatalities, the death toll mounted to 14,938. The test positive rate was recorded above 10. For almost a month now, Kerala has been reporting between 11,000 and 13,000 cases every day. During this same period, the daily count of cases in the country has declined by nearly a half, from more than 80,000 a day to about 40,000 a day now.
