'Continues To Act Like BJP Agent': TMC Waves Black Flags At Bengal Governor At NBU Varsity

Trinamool Congress (TMC) General Secretary Kumar Ghosh came down heavily on West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, saying that he is acting "like a BJP agent."

When West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose arrived to North Bengal University (NBU) in Siliguri, he was greeted with black flags. Trinamool Chhatra Parishad members hoisted flags and shouted slogans, news agency ANI reported. According to reports, the Governor met with NBU's Vice-Chancellor today and talked for almost an hour at the executive meeting. Following the meeting, the Governor spoke to the media, announcing that the State Election Commissioner had been chosen to decide the number of phases for the state's upcoming Panchayat election.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) General Secretary Kumar Ghosh came down heavily on West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, saying that he is acting "like a BJP agent." Speaking with media, Ghosh stated: "If Governor CV Ananda Bose continues to act like a BJP agent, he will have to face black fags and slogans like 'Ananda Bose go back'."

Hitting out at the state government, West Bengal BJP spokesperson Rahul Sinha stated: "Showing black flags to the Governor will hurt the state's image. CM Mamata Banerjee wants a 'sleeping governor'. The Governor isn't afraid of Mamata Banerjee & her party."

Speaking on the meeting with Vice-Chancellors of state universities on 28th June, Governor Bose said: "The meeting is yet to be held, wait for its result."

Meanwhile, while speaking on the next year's general assembly elections, Kumar Ghosh said: "The political process of the 2024 Lok Sabha has started already and the next meeting is scheduled to be held in Shimla. We are confident that BJP govt will be toppled and the opposition will come to power. The current Panchayat election is the start of the process of Lok Sabha polls."
