Cong Meeting On Aug 23 To Discuss Strategy For Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul To Chalk Out Narrative For 2024 LS Polls
Rahul Gandhi, the party's leader, will lead Congress on its "Bharat Jodo Yatra," which will set out from Kanyakumari on September 7 and end in Kashmir.
Congress has scheduled a meeting of its top officials on August 23 at the party's headquarters to discuss the Bharat Jodo Yatra, as per the sources, news agency ANI reported.
Rahul Gandhi, the party's leader, will lead Congress on its "Bharat Jodo Yatra," which will set out from Kanyakumari on September 7 and end in Kashmir.
Sonia Gandhi, the head of the Congress, had announced the yatra at the party's Chintan Shivir in Udaipur in May.
Over 12 states will be visited throughout the five-month yatra's 3,500-kilometer journey. Every day, the padyatra (march) will travel 25 kilometres.
Senior Congress officials including Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will attend the padayatras, rallies, and public meetings that will be part of the yatra.
The assembly elections for this year's state legislature were a disaster for the Congress, and the yatra is considered as an effort to galvanise the party's grassroots supporters for the forthcoming elections.
Rahul Gandhi will meet with members of the civil society and organisations in Delhi on August 22 to hear their concerns and ideas, according to sources. Gandhi will also talk to members of civil society on the goal of his Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Rahul Gandhi will collaborate with civil society to develop a strategy for the general elections of 2024 before he embarks on his Bharat Jodo Yatra on September 7 from Kanyakumari.
Prior to his Bharat Jodo Yatra, Gandhi would engage with groups and people advocating for many facets of society.
Discussions with members of the civil society have already begun by certain Congress leaders. Other people and organisations, including Yogendra Yadav and Megha Patekar, have been approached. Additionally, the remaining individuals are being contacted and invited to the anticipated meeting on August 22 in Delhi.
According to insiders, Rahul Gandhi wants to interact with the general public to develop a narrative opposing the Modi administration at the Centre.
In his lectures, the Congress leader will discuss topics such as the alleged abuse of constitutional institutions, unemployment, societal divide, problems facing farmers, and the status of the economy.
The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which will be introduced on August 23, also has a unique logo, website, and literature.
