Veteran actor and megastar Chiranjeevi has declared that he will not return to active politics and instead dedicate the rest of his life to the film industry. Speaking at a film event on Tuesday night, the 69-year-old icon emphasised that his younger brother, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, is carrying forward his political ideals and service motto.
"For the rest of this birth I will keep films close to my heart and serve the film industry, staying away from politics," he said, as per a report on PTI.
His comments come amid rumours that some senior political leaders were keen on bringing him back into active politics. However, Chiranjeevi dismissed any such plans, stating, "There is no intention to return to politics. So, don't have any doubts."

Chiranjeevi Faces Backlash
Apart from his political stance, Chiranjeevi has also found himself in controversy following comments he made at the pre-release event of Brahma Anandam. His remarks about his family, particularly regarding the gender of his future grandchildren, have drawn criticism for being outdated and sexist.
The superstar openly admitted his desire for his son, Ram Charan, and daughter-in-law, Upasana Kamineni, to have a baby boy, saying he felt “scared” that they might have another daughter.
Chiranjeevi said: "I keep wishing and telling (Ram) Charan, at least this time, have a boy so that our legacy continues, but his daughter is the apple of his eye… I’m scared that he might again have a girl.”
His comments have sparked criticism from sections of the public and social media users, who have called them regressive and insensitive.
