Lucknow: Unidentified assailants threw chilli powder at a Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district on Monday, police said. Kapil Dev Agarwal was meeting with local people in his residence when three young men came to him under pretext of sorting out some problem and threw the chilli powder at him and fled. The assailants escaped on a bike. The legislator has been admitted to a private hospital. "We have done primary first aid and dressed his eyes but we will have to go in for advanced tests soon as there might be damage to the cornea or the eyes in general" a doctor said.
