Lalu Yadav, His Family Reaping What He Sowed: BJP Leaders On CBI Visit To Rabri Devi’s Residence
BJP leader Jibesh Kumar Mishra said the CBI is an independent body and is doing its job. Other BJP leaders shared similar views as the CBI team reached Rabri Devi's residence in connection with land-for-jobs scam.
New Delhi: Hitting out at the RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ladders in Bihar said the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) was only “doing its job as an independent agency” in matters related to several ongoing cases against him. They claimed that the former chief minister of Bihar was “reaping what he had sown” in the past.
A BJP leader and former minister Jibesh Kumar Mishra said, “The CBI is an independent agency and is doing its job. Allegations of political vendetta are baseless. Lalu Prasad and his family are reaping what he has sown (jaisi karni vaisi bharni),” as quoted by news agency PTI.
As the opposition party in Bihar, the BJP has been in a political fight with Lalu Prasad and his party in the state. “Lalu Prasad got first convicted in a fodder scam case in 2013, when the Congress-led UPA, of which his party was a part, ruled the Centre,” he added.

While commenting on the matter, senior BJP leader Nitin Nabin added, “Lalu Prasad’s brush with CBI has been long. The fodder scam cases, in which he has been convicted, were lodged much before the BJP came into the picture.”
“The fodder scam cases were registered when the Centre was ruled by the United Front, of which he was a part. The complainants included Shivanand Tiwary, now his party's national vice president, and Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan, who heads the JD(U), his current ally,” he said, as quoted by PTI.

A team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday morning reached former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi's residence in connection with land-for-jobs scam. Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Misa Bharti were issued summons by the Rouse Avenue court. Based on CBI's chargesheet, the court had asked them to appear on March 15.
"A few days ago CBI summoned former Bihar CM Rabri Devi and she herself decided Monday, March 6 as the date of questioning at her residence. It's not that CBI barged in," news agency ANI quoted a CBI official as saying.
On May 18, the CBI filed an FIR against 17 people including Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, and daughter Misa Bharti over land-for-jobs scam and submitted a chargesheet in connection with the same.
