Cash crunch continues on ‘salary day’, people struggle to withdraw money

New Delhi: In spite of the Reserve Bank of India’s attempt to brace up for the salary day by increasing the cash flow by four times, a huge cash crunch was still observed by people at ATMs and banks when people reached to withdraw money. In Puducherry, despite the government employees' demand that their salaries for the current month be paid in cash, the Puducherry government announced that the payment would be made as usual through banks. On the other hand, the Telangana government decided to pay its employees Rs 10,000 in cash in their salary for November to "mitigate their hardships". Lashing out at the Government, BSP supremo Mayawati on Thursday said, “Government employees finding it difficult to get salaries. Also, PM is not participating in the debate as he is unable to gather courage to speak”.
