Case Filed Against Vlogger Roddur Roy For Abusing CM Mamata, Other TMC Leaders Over KK's Death

Vlogger Roddur Roy who is known to use expletives in his videos blamed the ruling party over singer KK's death.

New Delhi: A case was lodged against vlogger Roddur Roy on Saturday for allegedly abusing the Chief Minister of West Bengal on a Facebook Live, the Police told PTI. During the Facebook live session, he blamed the ruling party for the mismanagement at singer KK's last concert in Nazrul Mancha, following which he died. The case was lodged under relevant sections of the IPC after a complaint was filed by Trinamool spokesperson Riju Dutta at Chitpur police station, PTI reported.

"An investigation has been started in the matter as per the relevant sections of the IPC. He has been summoned as a part of the probe," he said.

Roy, who widely uses expletives in his social media posts and court controversies, used a barrage of abuses against the chief minister and senior leaders of the Trinamool alleging the mismanagement at Nazrul Mancha.

Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK passed away on May 31 after a performance at Nazrul Mancha, at an event organised by Gurudas College. The singer was constantly requesting the authorities to switch off the spotlights or to turn up the AC. He was going backstage at intervals to take a rest as he was feeling uneasy.

However, despite feeling uneasy, he performed all 20 songs he had originally agreed to with the organisers.

Videos on social media showed the singer sweating profusely as he took a break to wipe his face. Another video showed him being rushed out of the venue.

The auditorium was overcrowded, it could only hold 2000-2500 people, but that night it had over 5000 people. The crowd was out of hand that the security resorted to using fire extinguishers at the incoming crowd.

Even after returning to the hotel, KK obliged fans with selfies and took pictures with them. However, as KK entered his room and went to sit on the sofa, he collapsed.
