Bulandshahr Violence: Army jawan who reportedly shot Inspector Subodh Singh detained, sources say
Bulandshahr Violence: On December 3, Inspector Subodh Singh and a local youth, Sumit, were killed in violence over an alleged cow slaughter incident in the city.
Lucknow: Days after violence broke out in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district, it is reported that Jitendra, the army jawan who allegedly shot Subodh Kumar Singh, was nabbed by the police from Jammu and Kashmir. ABP News sources say that the army jawan Jitendra Malik, also known as Jeetu Fauji, is a resident of Bulandshahr's Mahav village, which is located only a short distance from the spot. It is also said that Jitendra was posted at Sopore’s 24 Rashtriya Rifles and had reportedly fled to J&K after the Bulandshahr violence. He will be handed over to Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday.
Earlier, during a programme in Delhi UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district violence over the alleged illegal slaughter of cattle which left a police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh dead was not mob lynching, it was tragic accident.
The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday transferred Bulandshahr SSP Krishna Bahadur Singh to the DGP office Lucknow, five days after two people, including an inspector, were killed in violence following an alleged cow slaughter incident. Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar said that the Senior Superintendent of Police will be replaced by Sitapur SP Prabhakar Chaudhary.
Additional Director General (ADG) Intelligence SB Shiradkar had Friday submitted a report on the violence. Based on it, the government transferred two other policemen of Bulandshahr -- Circle Officer Syana Satya Prakash Sharma and Chingravati police chowki in-charge Suresh Kumar.
