New Delhi: Terrorists fired upon two labourers from Bihar at Kharpora Ratnipora area in Pulwama on Saturday, news agency ANI reported.

According to the report, the injured have been shifted to the hospital where their condition is stated to be stable, Jammu and Kashmir Police said.

A week back, Bandipora Police arrested three persons allegedly involved in the murder of a migrant labourer a month back, and recovered a pistol in their workplace.

As per Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora Mohammad Zahid Malik, the arrested accused - Waseem Ahmad, Yawar Ahmad, and Muzamil Ahmad - were among the suspects summoned for interrogation over the course of the inquiry.

After prolonged interrogation, police zeroed in on the trio, who then admitted to killing Mohammad Amreez. Police also recovered a gun that had been used in the crime.

SSP Malik said, "On basis of clues we got by forming SIT & questioning people, we arrested 3 youths, residents of Sadunara, who confessed to the killing of Mohammad Amrez, resident of Bihar. Weapons recovered. Accused youths were in touch with handlers of LeT."

Earlier in August, a migrant labourer from Bihar was shot at by militants at Soadnara Sumbal in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora. The labourer succumbed to his injuries following the attack, the Kashmir police had said.

The deceased labourer was identified as Mohd Amrez, son of Mohd Jalil and a resident of Bihar's Madhepura. Soon after being shot, he was shifted to the hospital for treatment where he died.

In a similar incident in Jammu and Kashmir, a non-local was killed in June, 2022.
