BJP Shares Video Alleging Former MP CM Kamal Nath 'Trying To Incite Fire By Reading Congress Toolkit'

BJP has shared a video alleging that Kamal Nath was seen addressing a virtual meeting and urging the Congress workers that it was the right moment to 'set fire'.

Bhopal: A controversy has erupted in Madhya Pradesh after a video a former chief Minister Kamal Nath made rounds of social media. According to the video shared by the BJP Madhya Pradesh Twitter handle the saffron party has alleged that a man is speaking on a video chat allegedly with Kamal Nath.

BJP has implied in its tweet that the man speaking at the video conference is Kamal Nath and is heard saying, "ye aag lagane ka mauka hai"(this is an opportunity to incite the fire).

He further says to the man, "you go ahead and set fire."

Here's the video shared by the BJP Madhya Pradesh Twitter handle:

BJP has alleged that "Kamal Nath is trying to start the fire by reading the Congress Toolkit". However, you hear the video carefully the man who is speaking to allegedly Kamal Nath is heard speaking something about the farmers at the start of the video.

ABP News couldn't verify if the video shared by the BJP handle is authentic.

BJP has been slamming Congress for the last few days over an alleged 'Congress Toolkit' shared by its leader Sambit Patra.

Sambit Patra had posted the tweet on  May 18 with the hashtag #CongrssToolkitExposed alleging the 'toolkit' is being used by the opposition party to discredit the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Covid handling. It was shared by several BJP leaders.

"Friends look at the #CongressToolKit in extending help to the needy during the Pandemic! More of a PR exercise with the help of "Friendly Journalists" & "Influencers" than a soulful endeavour. Read for yourselves the agenda of the Congress: #CongressToolKitExposed," he had written, sharing what he called were screenshots from the document.

However, Twitter has flagged Sambit Patras's tweet marking it as "manipulated media".

Twitter's "synthetic and manipulated media policy" says: "You may not deceptively promote synthetic or manipulated media that are likely to cause harm. In addition, we may label Tweets containing synthetic and manipulated media to help people understand their authenticity and to provide additional context."

Also, Raipur city police Friday issued a notice to BJP leader and former Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh, asking him to remain present at his residence on May 24 for recording his statement in the Covid toolkit' case, an official said.

Among other things, the police wanted to know if the Twitter account @drramansingh belonged to Singh, from where he got documents titled as AICC Research Project or Cornering Narendra Modi and BJP on COVID management, and the communication between other accused regarding the use of hashtag "CongressToolkitExposed" on social media, the official said.

On May 19, an FIR was registered at the Civil Lines station against Raman Singh, the BJP's national spokesperson Sambit Patra and others for allegedly spreading fake news and promoting enmity between classes in the toolkit row.
