BJP-RSS 'Fake Hindus', They Use Religion For Their Own Benefit: Rahul Gandhi
The Wayanad MP further said that the ideology of the Congress was completely opposite of the BJP-RSS and only one of the two ideologies can rule the country.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday once again tore into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), alleging that they are "fake Hindus" who use religion for their own benefit.
"Ye kis prakar ke Hindu hain. Ye jhoote Hindu hain. Ye Hindu dharm ka prayog karte hain, ye dharm ki dalali karte hain, magar ye Hindu nahin hain (What kind of Hindus are they? They are fake Hindus. They use Hindu religion, they are brokers of religion, but they are not Hindus," Gandhi said, attacking the BJP-RSS.
Addressing the foundation day of the All India Mahila Congress, Gandhi said, "BJP-RSS people claim they are Hindu party. In the last 100-200 years, Mahatma Gandhi is the person who understood the Hindu religion and practiced it. We recognise it & so do BJP & RSS' people."
"If Mahatma Gandhi gave his entire life to understand the Hindu religion so why did Godse kill him. It is a contradiction and you have to think about it," Rahul Gandhi said.
The Wayanad MP further said that the ideology of the Congress was completely opposite of the BJP-RSS and only one of the two ideologies can rule the country.
Further in his speech, Rahul Gandhi asserted that Goddess Lakshmi stands for the power that helps one attain one's goals and Goddess Durga stands for the power that protects.
"While the Congress has strengthened these powers when in government, the ruling BJP dispensation has diminished these powers," the former Congress President said.
"They (BJP) call themselves Hindu party and attack Lakshmi and Durga all over the country. Wherever they go, somewhere they kill Lakshmi, somewhere they kill Durga. They use Hindu religion, they are brokers of religion, but are not Hindu," he added.
During the event, Rahul Gandhi stood in solidarity with leaders of the Mahila Congress as they pledge to protect India from all vested interests, to uphold each of its values & freedoms and to transform our society for a better, brighter and progressive tomorrow.
