‘Balancing Family & Work’: BJP MP Tejasvi Surya’s Facebook Post On Female Cop Goes Viral

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya in his Facebook post spoke about "the real women of Bharat" and saluted the for their service.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya posted a picture of a woman cop working at a railway station holding a baton behind her and a sleeping baby strapped to her front. Surya commended the cop for “instilling same values to the next generation.”

He wrote that people often forget the “real women of Bharat”, whom he described as “young mothers who raise children without the help of nannies or maids”. He further described them as “superstars at work” and yet are able to “manage families, educate children, take care of the elderly and do all of this with a smile on their faces.”

“Salute to them! They are the pillars of our families - the most important building block of our society”, he wrote.

His Facebook post has garnered over 40,000 likes and 1,200 comments, many has equally praised the woman for instilling similar values into the upcoming generation.

“Very much true. This picture is representative of what Bharat truly is - young, responsible and hardworking. Balancing family and work. Instilling same values to the next generation.” read one comment.

“I totally agree . God bless them . Vande Matharam.” wrote another user.

However, many users were displeased by the post and pointed out how her work risked the lives of both her and her child.

One comment read, “That shows there is no Govt support for these hardworking people, be it is a father or mother. Is there a child care support offered by the Govt? Can she perform her duties while attending to her child?”

“Neither the Child is Safe, nor the Mother with a Lathi nor the passengers with a tethered woman. Looks like National Capital, Railways and RPF are obliged to have a crèche for lactating mothers..Nothing to be proud of…” read another comment.

"This is not hardworking. She doesn't have any option as a Govt servant.Senior officers harassing her like this. I didn't expect this type of mentality from a young member of Parliament," wrote another user.
