BJP defends Yogi Adityanath's Ayodhya visit, slams Opposition
New Delhi: On Wednesday, defending Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath's visit to Ayodhya, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that the visit should not be objected, adding the Opposition parties must answer why do they visit the religious place only at the time of elections.
"When Yogi's visit was announced it was said that it will include a visit every district and discussing various issues over there. Nobody should object Yogi's visit to Ram Mandir which is entirely for religious purposes. Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati and Rahul Gandhi must answer why they visit Ayodhya only before elections," BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh told ANI.
A strong votary of construction of temple at the disputed Ram Janmbhoomi- Babri Masjid site, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath visited Ayodhya on Wednesday. He also visited the makeshift Ram temple to offer prayers.
"We will welcome the chief minister as per traditions. We hope he will give an assurance of finding a solution of this despute," head priest Satyendar Das said.
Babri Masjid petitioner Haji Mehboob has objected to chief minister's visit.
"Being the chief minister for all of us, he should not visit disputed site. But it's up to him," he said.
Adityanath has always maintained that the hurdles on the path of construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya will be gradually removed and its construction will start soon.
