Bihar Unlock: Shops, Schools, Cinema Halls To Reopen From Aug 7 With Curbs - All You Need To Know

The Chief Minister also said classes IX and X will resume from August 7, while classes 1 to 8 from August 16.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday said all shops in the state will open from August 7 to 25 with weekly off in view of the decline in cases of the novel coronavirus.

“Public vehicles will be allowed to run at full capacity. The cinema halls and shopping malls to open with restrictions,” ANI quoted Kumar as saying.

The Chief Minister also said classes IX and X will resume from August 7, while classes 1 to 8 from August 16.

He added the coaching institutes will function at 50 percent capacity barring a day.

The announcement came as 12 districts, including Munger, Lakhisarai, Jehanabad, Banka, Sheohar, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Gopalganj, Kaimur, Buxar, Siwan and Muzaffarpur, in Bihar reported no fresh Covid cases.

The daily Covid-19 count in Bihar increased from 37 on Monday to 60 on Tuesday. However, no death was reported due to Covid-19 in the state in the last 24 hours.

Bihar capital Patna continues to have the highest number of cases followed by Samastipur and Sitamarhi.

There are total 383 Covid-19 cases in Bihar currently.

Besides, what comes in as a major breather for Bihar amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the state’s recovery rate stood at 98.62 percent, which was 1.24 percent higher than the national average of 97.38 percent.
