Bihar Election Result HIGHLIGHTS: After a daylong see-saw battle, the NDA has emerged victorious in Bihar with clear majority, securing a fourth term for Nitish Kumar. While a diminished status of JDU which scored less than BJP is worrying the party, several BJP leaders have said that Nitish Kumar will only be the CM.
After the results, the ABP News-CVoter projections for the elections now stand validated.
Despite emerging as the single largest party, Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD cannot form government as its alliance partner Congress put up a weak show.
The results were announced after 4 am by the Election Commission and the ruling coalition won 125 seats in the 243-member state assembly against 110 clinched by the opposition Grand Alliance.
Bihar Election Results : Exit Poll Predictions | According to ABP-C Voter Survey, Janta Dal-United-led by Nitish is bagging 38-46 seats, while the party retains 67 seats currently. Meanwhile, his ally in state Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) may get around 66-74 seats bagging a massive rise as currently, the party has 53 seats in the current assembly. Going further, the ABP News-CVoter Exit Poll revealed that Grand Alliance comprising Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress and other parties could get 108 to 131 seats. However, both NDA and Grand Alliance fail to touch the magic figure in the state.
Bihar Outcome in 2015: The alliances were composed very differently five years ago. JD(U) was part of the Mahagathbandhan in the previous assembly polls. Plus, the LJP had fought the 2015 polls as part of the NDA.
